Cooking Weekly
Client Brief
This was a fictional brief that was making a front cover, Contents Page and a DPS (Double Page Spread) of a cooking magazine.
Client Deliverables
The first page I made was the front cover, I chose the name cooking weekly and established a design style that I used throughout all of the pages. I then made the DPS and the contents page.
Client Feedback
My client (teachers) were very happy with the finished product and i took the project into a pitch where it got the highest achievable grade.

My Process
Assets Made
For this project the Client wanted 3 different assets these were:
-
A Front Cover
-
Contents Page
-
1 DPS (double page spread)
Front Cover
For the front cover I wanted to make something bold so that it would catch the attention of the viewer. Due to this I chose to create a style sheet which had the fonts and the colour palette that I used. This was also key to help create a brand identity for the magazine.
Contents Page
For this page I decided to use a column structure to split the page up with on side being the text itself and the other being images that related to each page. I also made multiple iterations of the numbers until I found a good visible and easy to read font and size.
DPS (Double Page Spread)
For the double page spread I used a real recipe and included photos of the acutall resulting food to very clearly show off what the magazine was teaching the reader. I also found a good median for the text itself where by it was small enough to fit into the page but at the same time was easily readable.
Software And Hardware Used
For this project I used a combination of the Adobe Apps Mainly Illustrator and Photoshop. As well as a Handheld camera.
