Enviroment Short Film / Animation
Client Brief
This was again another fictional brief to make a short film / Animation that talked about the enviroment and the dangers of global warming.
Client Deliverables
I decided to make a short animation to illustrate in a fun but informative way the dangers of climate change including things like key statistics and information.
Client Feedback
This short film was completed and then shown to the BFI at the annual showcase they hold to show off student work from all the other schools across the country.
What I made
For this brief I was asked to create a animation that focused on a topic of my choosing I chose to make the animation on climate change and trying to make a more fun way to learn about the issue rather than listeneing to the news of conferences.
Pre Production
I started the project by first doing some animation tests to ensure that I could effectivley use the software. These tests were very basic and included a animated ball and a test shot of the video. I experimented with both 2D animation and 3D, untill I found a good workflow where I was going touse a mix of both 2D and 3D shots.
Production
The production phase ran for about 10 weeks during which I finalised the script as well as created all of the needed shots. I aimed to make at least one to 2 shots per week. The longest shots to make were the 3D shots. For one shot it took more than 2 weeks becuase I followed a tutorial to create the earth in Blender using real satilite data. This was then used for the opening and closing shots of the animation.
Final Product
The final product was short animated film that was easily able to discuss and show the importance of climate change and the negative effects it has on the enviroment.
Software And Hardware Used
For this project I used a combination of Adboe Illustrator, Adobe Animate and Blender.
